Dear Sugimoto-san (and all)
I have to visit a company to arrange ASIC layout for the
beam profile monitor tomorrow afternoon. So, unfortunately
I cannot attend the GLD meeting.
Here, I would like to briefly report on the plan for the detector
outline document: (~100 pages, due end Feb 2005)
* For the next one month or two, we will focus on optimizing the
GLD baseline design in terms of actual performances that can be
used for the benchmark performance estimation. (such as number
of layers and configuration of vertex detector, similarly for IT, ET,
should we have outer silicon tracker, calorimeter configuration
including granuraliry, layer thicknesses, strip design, radiator material,
B field, etc. etc.)
The idea is that by actually estimating the detector performances
(in terms of momentum resolution as a function of P, dip angle,
track density, etc.), the baseline parameters can be improved.)
* Each subgroup leaders will take initiative of the optimization.
* Toward the end of this year, we will start drafting the document.
Best regards
- Hitoshi
